Things are really happening now! (frame -day 3)

We can't believe how fast the frame has gone up - the walls were nearly completely finished by the second day & today when we went past the roof trusses are being put up.

Hopefully this means the brick work should be starting next week.

The frame begins (day 1 of frame)

We had a call from our CSR yesterday to let us know that the timber for the frame had been delivered. She told us framing would start either today (Friday) or early next week. Being a bit cynical I thought 'well that means with a long weekend coming they probably won't be starting until next Wednesday at the earliest'. Well what a nice surprise to drive by tonight and see that they had made a fantastic start!

All the timber has been cut and the first pieces have been laid out - its so exciting to see the rooms beginning to take shape.

Have to say I'm really impressed with the neat job all the tradies have done so far (such a girly thing to say I know!)

And on a totally different topic - here is our beautiful little puppy 'Maui'...... she is just 12 weeks old and such a little sweetie.

And still the waiting continues...

We have been checking our block daily hoping to see some progress on our house but still nothing going on. Its been well over a month since anything has happened so we are feeling really disappointed. Hopefully we will hear something in the next few days.

Still Waiting.........

Went past the block last night and was happy to see our windows have all been delivered. They look fantastic too! I was excited thinking that the frame should now be starting but after a call from our CSR was disappointed to hear the framers are not ready to start yet. Its really disappointing to have to wait again and to not even have a definite start date given.
Fingers crossed things will start again next week but I am feeling so over it all at the moment.
Disappointing too that our CSR only ever calls after I have called her and left a message. Anyway I hope to have more exciting news next time around.

On a go slow

Our slab was poured back in mid-December, it was very exciting to be able to really visualise how the house will be positioned on our block. The builders do a great job of tidying up as they go and using plenty of gravel so not too much mud around the slab.
Now we have been waiting for the christmas break to finish and for the work to start up again. Its been a long month of no activity, our CSR 'J' has said that things will begin again next week.

Just to add some stress to the whole building process we have just sold our current home! The settlement is 5 months so we have until the end of May for our home to be ready otherwise we will be out on the street!
